Chloe C., Oakland, CA

Dear Governor Schwarzenegger, I am 10 years old and I have been drinking raw milk exclusively as a beneficial treatment for the eczema that I suffered. It has done wonders for me, and I am concerned that the bill you signed is going to make me sick again.

I think that if you are going to ban raw milk because the CDFA is tricking people by telling them that raw milk is full of cow manure born bacteria then you should also ban Jack-In-The-Box, McDonalds, Burger King and all the other hamburger spots since it is more likely that the meat in their hamburgers is full of cow manure because of mishandling than raw milk. In fact, Mr. Governor, shouldn’t the state ban the sale of raw meat entirely. Smile!

Please stop allowing the CDFA to lie to us; there are more coliform bacteria on the head of my # 2 pencil than hairs on, and brains—it would seem—in all the state government heads up there in Sacramento put together. Coliform bacteria are good for us and they can even protect us against harmful bacteria.

As my dad says, “There’s nothing common about common sense.“ So this law that’s going to end up making it impossible for us to buy commercially produced raw milk (which is already tested and safe for me) sure proves that.

Please protect my right to drink raw milk by removing the new coliform requirement in AB 1735.

Sincerely,

Chloe C.

PS. My family and I went on the train to Old Town Sacramento for my dad’s birthday a few months back, and there were no recycling bins. Please add some in the future.
